Summary for Chapter Five
Terry Howard watches Michael
Matthews walking away with a city patrolman to be questioned about Jenna’s
disappearance. Terry and Michael had been friends until they had gotten into a
fight over a case of a missing girl that Terry refused to believe was just a
runaway case. Another reason they stopped being friends was because Terry
didn’t like the way Michael treated his wife, Darlene and Jenna. He’d suspected
that one day Michael would cross a line that would get him busted for domestic
violence. If Michael really beat Jenna up the way Cara described, this would be
that point when he crossed that line.
