California and Chaos

I haven't had a chance to post anything here for a few weeks. I've had a lot of chaos and I got to go to California for the American Library Association's annual conference that was held in Anaheim this year.  I had never been to California before so it was quite the treat. I got to go to see the Pacific ocean and walk on the beach in Newport. I also got to go the the Aquarium of th Pacific.  It was very awesome. I learned a lot at this conference about things that I had never really considered. I learned that you have to make sure your book gets cataloged correctly in the library systems so that it can be found by all of your potential audience, not just your direct audience.  I also learned that getting your book reviewed by the big reviewers like School Library Journal, Library Journal and Publisher's Weekly can be very challenging but very important to the success of your book.  Now that I'm back home, though, I will start working on the next segment of the ...

Updates

I've spent the last few days updating sites and working on a new story that will be a companion to Suddenly.  I'm still riding on cloud nine that Suddenly is actually getting published.  My publisher, Itoh Press has been great and is working very hard to get my book out to you as soon as possible.  As of right now, it should be available August 15, 2012! I hope you will all grab a copy.

Jamie and P.J.'s new page

I have moved the continuing story of Jamie and P. J. from my book "Suddenly" to their own blog.  You can read more about them at http://suddenlycontinued.blogspot.com/.  I hope you all will continue to me on my quest to be a published author. It looks like it is really going to to happen.  If all goes well, "Suddenly" will be out sometime around August 15, 2012.  I will make a big announcement here when it actually goes out.

Exciting News!

Hey, everyone! I have exciting news. Itoh Press has given me a contract to publish my book "Suddenly."  We are looking at a potential release date of August 15, 2012, but that is not official yet. I'm going to be moving "The Continuing Story of Jamie and P. J." to it's own blog, hopefully tomorrow since I'll be home, hopefully all day. I'll post the information about the new blog here once it's complete.  I hope you all will continue to follow Jamie and P. J.'s story and check about the release of the book.

Wedded Bliss

P. J. got used to Jamie having study groups at their apartment and tried not to get jealous everytime Jamie touched one of her friends.  Three of the girls; Kayla, Brandy and Lora, had become good friends with both Jamie and P. J. It wasn't unusual for all three of them to spend the weekend with Jamie and P. J., kind of like a college age slumber party.  Jamie had become quite the wife since P. J. worked as well as went to school.  She had gotten to the point where she would get up and fix breakfast for P. J., make her lunch, and discuss what the evening meal would be.  P. J. was still surprised to come home most nights with dinner on the table or a plate fixed and in the refrigerator waiting for her if Jamie had an evening class or something else going on. Things were so perfect, in fact, that P. J. was waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop.  It just seemed so easy.  Maybe things could really be this perfect for real, or maybe not. Check...

New Version of Suddenly Available on Website

I've posted the newest version of "Suddenly" on my website.  It's in PDF so you should be able to open it on mobile devices.  I'll keep updating editions as I get through more levels of editing.  I just heard back from an agent who said that he wasn't interested, but at least he responded where the other publishers I've contacted didn't even bother to say "no thanks."  I'd love to hear from any of you who are reading the story and let me know what you think!

Making Up

Jamie went back into the living room with her study group.  P. J. got into the shower.  She hated that they were fighting and felt guilty about being the one to start the fight, especially while Jamie's friends were here.  But, she was tired and she didn't feel like being social.  If Jamie would have warned her, she would have went to her aunt's or done something else to chill out before coming home.  P. J. had only met a few of the girls that were here and they seemed okay.  She wondered if Jamie had told them that they were lovers or if she had just said they were roommates.  The fear of Jamie changing her mind about their relationship, finding someone else, or just deciding she wasn't really gay reared it's ugly head again.  Their relationship was still new even though they had been together for seven months now.  P.J. told herself that she was being silly and she would apologize to Jamie after the girls left.  She was just so ...
