Back to Editing

Well, since the last publisher I sent my book to didn't even bother to let me know why they weren't interested in it, I decided it must need more editing.  I'm also still seriously considering self-publishing and keeping the price cheap so young lesbians can afford to download the book and read it.  I'd rather it get read for little to no money than to not get read at all.  Of course, anyone who wants to read the unedited version is welcome to check it out on my website at http://www.metudor.com/ .

Beware of Domestic Violence

Domestic violence comes from all walks of life and all types of relationships.  It comes in the form of physical abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Too many young adults today enter into relationships and fall victim to domestic violence.  There are a number of signs of domestic violence and many places to get help.  If you are with someone who is becoming abusive, end the relationship and seek help if you need it.  Being alone is better than being abused. Given time you'll meet the right person who will treat you with true love and respect. I bring this up because my 22 year old daughter is trying to get away from an abuser. Unforturnately she has children with him which makes things a lot harder. (It's not unfortunate that she has children but it's unfortunate that she has them with him). When I was married to my daughters' father he was very emotionally and verbally abusive to me and dealt with it for 17 years until I got sick of it. Th

Not Going To Get My NaNoWriMo Word Count

This month has been absolutely insane with family drama, all of which will end up in a story at some point, but it's the story that's going to keep me from getting the word count for NaNoWriMo.  My characters are just not turning out like I see them in my head and the story has taken a different direction then I intended so that has me stumped. I did get almost 25000 words done though and hopefully the story will take form and move forward. Other news is that I still haven't heard anything from PD Publishing so I'm going to assume no word means no and I can start looking for other publishers to consider my book.  I'm torn about the self-publishing thing.  It's a lot of money to invest when I can't even get feed back from a publisher. We'll see though.

No News From Publisher

Well, I still haven't heard back from PD Publishing so I'm going to assume no answer means no.  I'm going to work on doing some more editing on the story after the first of the year.  Right now I'm working on a new story for NaNoWriMo.  It's going pretty slowly because I'm having issues with my characters.  It started out about a young adult girl who is forced to move from the city to the country and her having an attitude about it and another young adult girl pushes her to change her attitude but the characters are not going in that direction so I'm not real sure how it will turn out but I'm going to keep plugging along and try to get my word count in.

New Story is Going Strong

I started my new young adult lesbian romance for the NaNoWriMo writing project and I've already got 13000 words down.  It still doesn't have a lot of direction yet but it's coming a long.  As soon as I know where it's really going, I'll post a synopsis and excerpts.

Broke Down and Wrote Publisher

Well, I finally got to where I couldn't take the waiting any more. It's been almost 8 weeks since I sent my book to PD Publishing and I haven't heard anything back.  I don't want to assume the worse but since there's been no word I'm going to have to assume they weren't interested in it.  But, they haven't officially said no so I guess I can still hold out on hope until I actually get the official NO.  Any way, next week National November Writing Month or NANOWRIMO starts and I will be working on my adult lesbian romance about a televangist's wife who is raped in South Africa because she became friends with a lesbian couple who were on a missionary trip over there with her.  When she comes back home she is a changed woman and has to make some serious choices about what direction she wants her life to take.  One of those choices is whether or not she be able to stop herself from falling in love with a beautiful prosecuting attorney is may be getting

Decisions Decisions

I still haven't heard anything from PD Publishing and I'm considering entering my book Suddenly in Bedazzled Publishing contest.  I'll have to write PD next week if I don't hear from them and see what they are doing with my book so I'll know if I can enter it in the Bedazzled contest. Next month is NaNoWriMo and I'm really torn about which story to write on during that month.  I've got my adult lesbian romance that I've been toying with for like six years but there still seem to be some blocks with that.  Then, I have another young adult lesbian romance that I've been thinking about and the ideas for that seem to be coming more readily.  I'm leaning towards the young adult since the ideas for that keep popping in my head. I really wish I could hear something back from the publisher so I'd know what to do about Suddenly. Anyway, I guess it's just a wait and see until next week, then I will definitely have to make a decision about Bedaz

Too Many Stories

I'm working on two stories now, an adult lesbian romance and a young adult lesbian romance. Suddenly I've started having new ideas for another young adult lesbian romance.  There is just not enough time in the day to get this all down. Ugh!  I'm REALLY hoping to hear from PD Publishing this week. It's driving me nuts not knowing if they are reading my book.  I'm still seriously considering self publishing.  After reading what authors make on a book, I may seriously have to consider it if I'm going to make a decent profit.

Working and Waiting

I've been working on my Evangelist's Wife story yesterday and I'm still waiting to hear from PD Publishing. It's been five weeks and I'm literally sitting on my hands trying not to email them and ask if they've read the story yet.

New Story Coming Along Slowly

I've got so many ideas in my head about both of my new stories but finding time to write has been a problem lately.  I'm still waiting to hear from the publisher about my first young adult lesbian romance but working on the next one about a girl moving from the city to the country.  I'm also working on my adult lesbian romance about an evangelist's wife who falls in love with another woman.  I'm looking so forward to seeing how each story unfolds.  Even though I have an idea of what I want the story to be, they have a tendency to take lives of their owns.

Love Waits and an Old story of mine

I breezed through Gerri Hill's book "Love Waits" again a few days ago.  I just love the way she writes romance and her sex scenes are HOT!  I picked up the first lesbian romance that I ever wrote, "Second Chances" and started reading over it again.  It's needs some major editing but it's still a great story about getting a second chance at love.

Nick Burd and Gerri Hill

I just finished reading "Vast Fields of Ordinary" by Nick Burd. It's a very nice coming of age story about a young gay man, Dale, who is living in the suburbs with his parents.  He's been a play toy for a guy on the football team for a few years who refuses to even kiss him but is willing to do stuff to Dale.  It's not really completely clear but I got the impression that very little of what him and the football player, Pablo did together was really for Dale's benefit other than the fact that Dale wanted to be with Pablo.  Dale finally gets tire of Pablo's game and meets Alex, a drug dealer who is his age and popular with the other kids in Alex's school.  Dale and Alex start seeing each other and for the first time Dale is with someone who wants to be with him as a lover and not just a sex on the side toy.  It's a very well written story. I really enjoyed it.  It's was also very insightful to what a young gay man goes through as he learns to co

Julie Ann Peters

I just found out that my library has Grl2grl: short fictions by Julie Ann Peters.  I'm going to go grab to the book in a little while and check it out.  I've read Rage by Julie and that was a great story.  She told at the beginning of the book that she wasn't want to write it because of the violence between the two girls in the story but a fan had continuously requested she write the story so she did.  I thought that was great.  The story does cover the tough subject of violence between women and how sometimes when you love someone you'll put up with a lot more than you should.  I'll post my review of Grl2grl once I get it read.

Working on New Stories

I spent some time this past week starting on two new stories. One adult lesbian romance that I've actually been working on in my head for about six years.  It's about an woman who is married to a televangelist who goes to South Africa on a mission and is raped with two new friends who are lesbians. They are raped by a gang who are part of the groups who are "corrective raping" lesbians in South Africa.  The main character Catherine had been very complacent in her life before this happened, always doing what she was expected but this event changes her profoundly.  She meets a prosecuting attorney, Elizabeth through her parents and the two women become friends.  Their friendship grows into more.  Their new relationship will be put to a huge test when Elizabeth is put on a team to help prosecute Catherine's husband for charges that may prove that he has been the leader of a group in the United States that have been "corrective raping" lesbians. The second

Gerri Hill's New Book Storms

Gerri Hill has done it again. She has produced another phenomenal romance.  I got her book Storms Friday and I would have read the whole thing Friday night if I didn't have to get up early Saturday and go to work.  She has created another round of rich characters for us to fall in love with.  Kerry and Carson are two women with very different histories but who find a future together. I can only hope to be as great of a writer as she is one day. You can find her books at: http://www.bellabooks.com/ Speaking of new stories, I'm working on one that I've been playing with for about six years and I think I finally have all the pieces coming together.  It's about an television evangelist's wife who goes on a mission to Africa and has a very traumatic experience that changes the way she thinks about everything.  She will meet a lawyer who she will become friends with and maybe more. ;)  I'll keep posting of how that's coming along.

Spent A Great Day Out In Nature

I went hiking, horseback riding, and wading at the lake today.  Being out in nature always inspires writing and today was no exception.  I'm ready to dig in with a new story while I wait to hear the fate of Suddenly with the publisher.

Exciting News

I just got an email from P.D. Publishing. They do have my manuscript and it's third in line to be considered.  I'm so excited that they actually have it and a real publisher is actually going to look at it and tell me what they think. I'm also going to be starting on two new stories. One is an adult lesbian fiction and the other a young adult lesbian book.  They both are going to involve women getting raped.  I've been torn about writing them but it's been on my mind every since I heard about lesbians being "correctively" raped in South Africa. My feelings about it was renewed this morning when I read that presidential candidate Michele Bachman and her husband run a Christian Counseling clinic that tries to "cure" gays.    I'll be posting more about the book and the new stories so I hope I get some comments about both. :)

Bummed

I'm very bummed that I didn't even get an email from the last publisher I sent my book to telling me that they actually got it. I guess I'll just have to sit on my hands for the next six to eight weeks and pray they send me something.

Suddenly Sent Off And New Story Ideas In The Works

Image
Under the Witness Tree I sent Suddenly , my young adult lesbian romance, off to another publisher this past week. Hopefully it will get published. The publishing process is much longer then people think it is.  I hate to think that it could be years before I see my book in print but that's the reality of it. Oh well, I've got my fingers crossed that this publisher will pick it up. I've already got ideas for new stories.  I've had one adult lesbian romance going on in my head for about six years now and I'm just finally getting all the pieces for it together.  It's about an evangelist's wife who goes to South Africa on a mission who, along with some new lesbian friends,  and gets raped by part of a gang that is out to try to force all the lesbians in South Africa to become straight.  This is a horrifying thing that is really happening in South Africa. In fact, I was having trouble with what I wanted to happen to this woman on her mission to Africa because i

Suddenly is almost completely edited.

I've spent the entire day today going over my young adult lesbian romance, "Suddenly".  I am so close to being done with the editing that I can taste it.  I cannot wait to get it out there for other lesbians to read and review.

New Edition of Suddenly on Website

I've just posted the newest edition of Suddenly, my young adult lesbian romance novel on my website.  I've been working on editing it and getting ready for publication, which will hopefully happen soon.  I also just purchased Elena Undone, a lesbian romance DVD by Nicole Conn.  It is an AWESOME movie!

Addicted to Elena Undone Clips on Youtube

I have become so addicted to the Elena Undone clips on Youtube.  I've ordered my copy of the movie and I cannot wait to get it.  Nicole Conn has out done herself with this movie.  I think it's going to be my favorite of all time.

Bad Endings

I just scanned through Rosemary and Juliet and found yet another sad ending to what could have been a good young adult lesbian romance.  I'm sure that it was based on the way too many young relationships like these end up. I had read a comment that one author who writes young adult lesbian stories said about publishers not wanting the story to end happily because of the general public view of the story but I refuse to change the ending of the story I've written from a happy ending to a semi happy one to make a publisher happy.  I will self-publish it myself first.

RAGE by Julie Anne Peters

I just started reading RAGE by Julie Anne Peters last night and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get into it because it's about a good girl who wants to be in a relationship with a bad girl and that relationship is apparently going to turn abusive.  I haven't gotten to that part yet but the book is so well written that I could not put it down.  I read almost half of it in one sitting last night and I expect that I'll finish it or real close in the next sitting.  The main character, Johanna has this obsessive crush on Reeve.  I find it interesting that such a good girl like Johanna would have such a deep crush on a very bad girl like Reeve because my own book, that I'm still editing, has Jamie the popular cheerleader who has a serious crush on bad girl P.J.  But in my book P.J. will not be abusing Jamie.  I'm curious to see how this book is going to end because it is already clear that Reeve is incapable of loving anyone at this point.  I'm wonderi

The never ending task of editing.

I'm making myself get focused on editing my book again. I'd shyed away from it for about a week or so but it's time to get serious about it again or I'm never going to get the book published.  I'm really hoping that there are a lot of young lesbians out there who would interested in reading a delightful romance.  But I have to get it edited so I can get it published.

Finished P.C. Cast's book Marked

I cannot wait to get the next book Betrayed.  Marked was such an awesome read!

P.C. Cast Marked

I'm almost done with this book and can't wait to get onto the next one.  I am so hooked on the way this author talks about the life of the vampyres in the story.  I also love the way she uses Pagan and Native American practices with the vampyres.   Awesome stuff.

P.C. Cast

I've been reading P.C. Cast's book Marked and I have to say I am totally hooked.  I can't wait until I get to pick it up again.  There's only been a few authors who have pulled me in like that.  I can't wait to get to the next book.

Frustration

I feel like I've been working on my book Suddenly forever but it's really only been about four months.  I'm just frustrated that it feels like I'm never going to get all the editing done.  I'm really ready to start writing something else.  I need to get back to the erotica story I'm working on about a lawyer who ends up in the wrong place but it may just have been the right time. :)

Still waiting on Publisher

I understand why publishers take a certain amount of time to look over your work before deciding if they want to publish it or not but I wish they would hurry up because I want to know something. :) Actually I still have some editing to be doing but I'm getting itchy to start a new project. I've actually started on an erotica short that I'll post at the Academy of Bards in a few weeks. If anyone is interested in reviewing it for me just let me know.

HI!

Good morning everyone! I'm M.E. Tudor. I'm a lesbian romance writer. I love writing and reading romances. I also love reading a good mystery! I'm working on getting a young adult lesbian romance published and I hope that any one reading my blog will get a chance to read the story for your own enjoyment. Today I'm going to be back to editing and policy the story, entitled "Suddenly". It's about two seventeen year old girls who come from different backgrounds but go to the same school. Jamie Edwards is a popular cheerleader who has suddenly started experiencing changes of heart, not only about cheer leading but about P.J. Thomas. Jamie has developed a crush on the troublemaker and is not sure what to do about it. Their story tells how two young women from different backgrounds find a common ground and fall in love.
